Dubai’s Atlantis the Royal celebrates its first birthday in style with Dolce&Gabbana and Louis Vuitton

After joining forces with Dolce&Gabbana and Louis Vuitton, Dubai’s Atlantis the Royal marks its first birthday with its fashion foot forward…

One year on from their highly-publicised launch party (featuring Beyoncé Knowles herself), Atlantis the Royal has cemented its reputation as one of the world’s leading luxury hotels. And now, just in time for summer, they have partnered with two of the biggest names in fashion, Dolce&Gabbana and Louis Vuitton to really give their guests a taste of the high life.

In February, they joined forces with French maison Louis Vuitton to transport their famous Vivienne mascot from Paris to the Palm in order to offer up a first of its kind installation. But now, it’s the turn of their Italian counterpart, Dolce & Gabbana. Teaming up with Ounass, a top-of-the-range fashion, lifestyle and homeware site based in the Middle East, the fashion house is presenting an Italian-style experience at the hotel’s iconic Cloud 22 sky pool and bar. The result? A dreamy rendezvous between European fashion and UAE extravagance.

Though the image that springs to mind at the utterance of “Dolce & Gabbana” is eye-catching luxe fabrics and bold prints, the brand actually launched their homeware line, Casa, back in 2021. They’re also in the midst of several food and drink collaborations, so it makes sense for the brand to foray further into hospitality with their new Cloud 22 venture. In fact, this collab could be the perfect amalgamation of all D&G’s commercial arms — while guests indulge in their specially-crafted Italian menu (think bruschetta topped with caviar, Amalfi lemon-drizzled oysters and steak tartare with truffle), they can lounge back on the bar’s sumptuous furnishings, crafted in the fashion house’s iconic blue Majolica print

But what’s in it for Ounass? Well, though there’s lively music in the bar to keep visitors entertained, those who get a little restless can wander down to the Ounass pop-up store on the hotel’s Galleria floor. Obviously, there are Dolce & Gabbana pieces aplenty, including some in the Majolica print (of course), as well as garments from their psychedelic Caretto and Crystal Mesh collections.

While Atlantis The Royal speaks for itself with its soaring 43 stories, 44 infinity pool-clad penthouses and 18 world-class restaurants (boasting eight celeb chefs, including Ariana Bundy’s impressive Persian kitchen, which won the Dubai Opening of the Year Award at the Michelin Guide), Cloud 22 is a lofty entity unto itself. There are infinity pools, floating beds, luxury cabanas and even private plunge pools. Plus, it’s no stranger to a celebrity or two — it was actually the location of choice for Kendall Jenner’s 181 Tequila launch party.

Cloud 22 is always open to external guests, but its taste-of-Italy blue-and-white makeover will be running until next year.
