Six self-portraits of the 70s, by Richard Bernstein

“Somehow artists find me, or rather, we find eachother,” says Grace Jones. “And when you find people you believe in, you stick with them.” A new book published by Rizzoli explores the iconic work of American artist Richard Bernstein (aka the OG star-maker, fashion fixture and Studio 54 regular who momentalized his subjects into dazzling pop art incarnations) – from his larger-than-life cover art for Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine to paintbox bright album covers he created in the 60s and 70s. Below is a sneak peek at the hyper coloured portraits he created over to years of Grace Jones and the gang.

“Richard Bernstein Starmaker: Andy Warhol’s Cover Artist”, £42.50, published by Rizzoli, is available to buy now.
