MVP of the week — Featuring Puma x Ottolinger

Welcome to HUNGER’s Most Valuable Player, the place to find the best things to buy, watch, do or listen to each week. Forget about the hype, we want to separate what’s hot, what’s not, and what needs to be on your radar…

First off, it’s this week’s beauty fix. Christian Louboutin introduces Teint Fétiche Le Fluide, a liquid foundation that’s got creating the perfect canvas in mind. Christian Louboutin’s latest offering comes in 30 shades — going from “Pearl” to “Ochre”, it promises match-perfect high coverage in a no-transfer formula. It’s infused with amethyst powder that gives you a radiant glow, and it’s vegan and long-lasting, boasting up to 24 hours of comfortable wear. Best of all, it’s one that’ll look good on your dressing table: housed in a glass bottle with a gold cap, it’s luxury meets contemporary chic. Even better news? It’s already available to shop. Meet your go-to summer base.

Something to delight your nostrils this week is Dries Van Noten’s newest fragrance, Mystic Moss. Completing the triptych alongside Orange Smoke and Sur Ma Peau, Mystic Moss embodies Dries Van Noten’s fascination with ‘impossible combinations’. Crafted by perfumer Nicolas Bonneville, it reimagines Cannabis Patchouli with earthy patchouli, oak moss, and mandarin, making the scent decidedly fresher. Sourced sustainably from Macedonia, Calabria, and Indonesia, not only do its ingredients reflect ethical practice, but it’s housed in a stunning, stripped back bottle. Again, it’s one to put pride of place on your dressing table. Mystic Moss is available online now.

Smell good and be a bit happier: that’s the aim of the latest collaboration between Calm, the mental health app, and leading natural deodorant brand Fussy, who together have created “The World’s Most Calming Deodorant Scent”. Those who purchase a Fussy deodorant in the limited edition “Lavender Fields” scent will be offered one month free trial of Calm then 50% off the annual subscription. You’ll be finding your zen with not only Calm’s sleep, meditation and relaxation exercises, but a deodorant that will, according to actual science, make you more relaxed. That’s because when you swipe on some Fussy in the limited edition scent, the lavender infused deodorant interacts with the neurotransmitter GABA to help quiet the brain and nervous system. You’ll experience less anger, aggression and agitation. It’s the same science behind dowsing your pillow in lavender spray and drifting off into a deep, deep sleep. The collaboration, which coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month, is available now

Another collab you might not have been expecting is one between PUMA x Ottolinger, but read it and weep, and be rather impressed by the results. The collab is inspired by motorsport and science fiction, merging sportswear with futuristic design. Optical illusion prints and metallic finishes adorn apparel, footwear, and accessories, while power suits come alive thanks to metallic hues and vibrant accents. The campaign for the collab was shot in Athens, and stars “It girl” Alva Claire navigating a transforming world on her PUMA x Ottolinger motorcycle. Basically, it’s Motomami, Charli XCX and Mad Max all rolled into one — a vibe we definitely want to emulate. The collection is available online at ottolinger.com and at selected retailers worldwide.

While it’s rare to go a few hours without seeing a shiny pair of Duke and Dexter loafers, until now the London shoemakers haven’t made their mark on the apparel world… But that’s just changed. Introducing Duke Racing 1, their adrenaline-packed collection for SS24. Duke and Dexter’s first offering in the clothing department debuts with unisex, meticulously crafted garments featuring vintage motorsport-inspired graphics by their in-house designers. Treated with custom fade-out dye and distressed for an aged aesthetic, each piece boasts a slightly boxy, oversized vintage vibe for everyday wear. Duke and Dexter’s SS24 collection has been made with sustainability in mind too: the graphics are a result of water-based screen-printing and organic dyes, all manufactured with eco-conscious methods. Crafted with care over 14 months, they’re pieces made to last. You can shop on their website or on Ounass.

For something delicious, look no further than Roe, which has just debuted in London’s Wood Wharf, and is brought to you by the team behind Fallow. Led by Head Chef Jon Bowring, the menu showcases under-celebrated British ingredients like roe deer and forgotten fish varieties. There’s dishes like Cornish Pasty with Maitake mushrooms and Cuttlefish Brioche with chilli jam. Roe’s focus on sustainability even finds its way into dessert: think Caramelised Banana Parfaits that reflect the restaurant’s zero-waste principles. Bar Manager Tommy Long crafts garden-inspired cocktails, while the wine list emphasizes organic and biodynamic options. Best of all, the restaurant looks as good as everything that will pass your lips: designed by Studio Gossamer and STAC Architecture, Roe is spread across three floors and boasts an aeroponic wall yielding fresh produce like lemon verbena and padron peppers. You can book a table here, which you should do as soon as humanly possible.

What do you get when you mix visionary artist Jordss with DJ Lady Banton? The best Dr. Martens to see you into the summer months. Doc’s archive sandals collection is all about reviving vintage silhouettes from the iconic shoemaker while giving them some modern flair. Blending Jordss’s influences of soundsystem culture and carnival with Lady Banton’s love of disco and reggae, the campaign sees the pair unveil the collection right at the epicentre of Notting Hill carnival. Paying homage to the inclusive spirit of 80s blues parties, it’s a celebration of all things freedom and creativity. Though the sandals in the collection have those characteristic Dr. Martens touches – chunky soles and that iconic yellow stitching – they’re the perfect shoe to traipse around carni in. Blending retro charm with contemporary style, they’re versatile, oh-so wearable and available to shop online and in store now.
